Sales Associate (Events Team)

Hello! 👋 We’re The Hungry Sloth, a small clothing brand based in San Jose, CA. We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Sales Associate to join our Events Team. If you’re hard-working, detail-oriented, and enjoy connecting with people, we’d love to have you on board.

About the Role

As part of our Events Team, you’ll help represent The Hungry Sloth at pop-up markets and community events. You’ll be responsible for setting up our booth, engaging with customers, handling transactions, and maintaining an organized and professional display.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down event equipment, including two 4-ft tables, a 10x10 pop-up canopy with weights, and merchandise bins (up to 75 lbs).
  • Manage sales transactions using cash or POS systems.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service throughout each event.
  • Maintain an organized booth and restock merchandise as needed.
  • Represent The Hungry Sloth brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Requirements

  • Must have a reliable vehicle large enough to transport event equipment (6-ft table, canopy, and bins). Gas will be covered for all event travel.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Flexible weekend availability (occasional weekday events).
  • Strong communication, organization, and basic math skills.
  • POS or sales experience preferred, but not required.
  • Able to manage events independently.
  • Positive, friendly, and respectful attitude toward customers and team members.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time position; hours vary week-to-week depending on event schedule.
  • Average event shift: 6–12 hours (morning or evening, depending on event).
  • Pay: $20/hour
